What do you enjoy about teaching your subjects?

Teaching music is always fun because it has so many elements: playing an instrument, performing solo or in a group, music theory and analysis, reading music notation and sight reading, composing and song writing, ear training, music technology and recording, music history and philosophy (what is music? melody, harmony, and rhythm? organised sound? noise?).

What do you like about working at Alia?

The respectful ethos and relaxed atmosphere, the thoughtful students and staff, and the impressive historical building the school is in.

What do you get up to with your time outside school?

Performing in an electric guitar trio and reading philosophy books.
