To kick off the 2010 year at Alia College we had a visit to Phillip Island in February.
About 80 students, staff and past students attended. We visited the Penguin Parade, A MAZE'N THINGS, beaches and did surfing, sea kayaking, snorkeling and general fun and games.
The photo below is one of the tourist trap options. We were all in front of a green screen and the penguins are superimposed on our photo. A couple of students were a bit disconcerted that Alia College might use such a doctored image; but it was a good way to get a memento considering that you are not allowed to take your own photos at the parade. Hopefully the concerned students are happy that we make the artificiality of the image clear here. You can see the green screen in Bob's hair and on Jai's right arm.
A MAZE'N THINGS Drop Slide
We also visited A MAZE'N THINGS on Phillip Island. The students loved it. That drop slide doesn't look very dramatic until you are on it. The pictures below were all provided to us on a CD.
The images are all full size as provided - about 2 - 3 MB. That's why they take forever to download. So don't be fooled by the compression on the screen here. Copy them as indicated above and you will be able to blow them up in size quite effectively. When you have copied what you want let me know and I'll remove them from the website.
A MAZE'N THINGS Incredible Shrinking Room
COMMENT: Same as above; except that the participants are rather less terrified.
